Home-made Grout and Tile Cleaner

Looking at dirty and filthy tiles can be kind of disturbing. But cleaning those and keeping your bathroom or kitchen tidy is never as easy as counting from 1 to 3. Trying to solve this problem through synthetic cleaners, chemical tile and grout cleaner and others could be a little pain in the pocket. So here’s an easy and affordable way of making homemade solutions for cleaning tiles and grout:

You will need the following:

  • 1 cup of water
  • 3 Tbs. of baking soda
  • 2 Tbs. ammonia
  • 2 Tbs. of vinegar
  • A spray bottle
  • Rags and brushes
  • Warm water

And here’s how:

Simply put the water, baking soda, ammonia, and vinegar inside the spray bottle. Then, shake. Make sure to just put enough of it inside the bottle to avoid the ingredients from spilling.

How to use:

Spray the mixture on each and every side of your tile and grout. Leave it that way for five to twenty minutes. You can extend the time if necessary. The cleaning mixture works by untightening the dirt.  So, you can just scrub the dirt on your tiles with a brush and then, you can wipe those using rags or mops after.

Smart tips:

  • The perfect time to clean your tiles and grouts on your bathroom is right after you shower. The steam helps loosen the dirt so cleaning them would be much easier for you.
  • Use a brush that is intended for cleaning tiles and grout instead of just a tooth brush so all the dirt can be brushed away.
  • The dirt on grouts is not easy to clean since they have very minute spaces and holes. It is wise to seal them. You can also have them sealed professionally so you wouldn’t deal with any troubles.
  • The cleaning mixture does not contain harsh chemicals as the commercial ones. However, it is advisable to wear protective rubber gloves when using them to avoid skin irritation.

You’re lucky because you have finally discovered the safest, easiest and most affordable way of cleaning the filthy dirt on your tiles and grouts! You can just deal with them by yourself and you need not to call professionals to do the job for you anymore! Give your tiles regular scrubbing, spraying, and cleaning so you can have that sparkling tile effect!
